Bank exam tips

If we take a look at the statistics of previous years it can be framed out that most of the students have selected banking as their prime career option. Owing to the recession prone market conditions and fear of being expelled from IT company’s students now want job security. All that factors leads banking sector as most reliable one. Banking sector now has become the largest employer of government jobs in India.  Anew trend is seen to be emerged with the rapid growth of banking services in India.
Bank entrance exam is conducted by Institute of banking personnel selection and the whole employment process from written exam to interview is regulated by them. There are 19 public sector banks which participate in IBPS selection process while SBI conducts its own. To crack the exam and give a start to your career good preparation is needed.

Goal setting: goal setting is the most important factor before starting preparation. First of all you have to know for which post you are trying to get in. Like other organizations there are many positions in banks but they offer only three types of posts for the fresher’s. They are
·         Clerical
·         Probationary officer
·         Specialist officer
Clerical is the lowest level and exam is easy than others, while probationary officer is of high rank. Specialist officer are for various fields like IT, law, agriculture, marketing etc. First of all set your goal in mind and start preparation accordingly.
Start preparation at the earliest:  once goal is set start the preparation. The clerical and PO exams are conducted twice in a year so you get enough time to prepare. The exam syllabus is subdivided into four major sections: reasoning, DI, verbal and general knowledge. The general knowledge section consists of current affairs, banking knowledge, marketing awareness and basic knowledgeofcomputers. The verbal part requires good knowledge of English grammar and strong vocabulary. Vocabulary is also needed for written exam of PO.
Efforts on time management: time management is a major factor in these exams since within 2 hours of time you have to answer 200 questions. So you need to practice more and more to maintain the time constraint.
·         Try to find out shortcut methods which require less time.
·         Regular watch on upcoming exams
·         Try to solve previous year papers and understanding of the pattern.
·         Find out the probable cut off scores to qualify

CAT success fundas

To give a kick start to your career after a graduation degree MBA is a better option to choose. If we take look at the statistics of last five years in the history of CAT exam we can find that the no of aspirants are gradually increasing every year.  There are many entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, IIFT etc for various streams of MBA. Among them CAT exam has gained the maximum popularity. By cracking cat exam you can not only get into the IIMs but also some other premier institutes of management.
But cracking CAT exam is not an easy task. It depends on your hard work and proper approach. The exam consists of four major sections- reasoning, data interpretation, quantitative aptitude and verbal part. Though reasoning part is not so tough but one need to have regular practice to excel in it as time constraint is connected to it. For verbal you must have a strong hold on English grammar and vocabulary. Reading speed is also a major factor. According to experts one should focus on how to comprehend fast than reading fast. To increase the potential you should try out daily newspaper, journals on diverse topics and content should be enriched with information so that your general knowledge should be enhanced which helped in interview cracking also.
Regarding quantitative section you should focus on concepts. Cracking the interview is not a tough work and also not so easy one. But if you would prepared well you can excel on it. The interviewer examines your presence of mind, how you react under pressure etc.  Remember one thing if you write any strong point in your CV then you may be asked to justify it by an example, so think twice before writing anything on your CV.  Reading newspaper daily is an added advantage; your general knowledge skills will be enhanced.
